Alessandro Cassini is a medical doctor with an MSc from LSE & LSHTM. During his 10 years at ECDC he led burden of disease studies, knowledge translation of scientific research for decision-makers, responsible for country visits to discuss AMR issues, for EUCAST and supported the development of risk ranking methodologies. In March 2019, He joined WHO in the Infection Prevention and Control Hub, focusing on surveillance of HAIs and cost-effectiveness of IPC. He has been deployed several times as a field epidemiologist as part of response teams during, many outbreaks including Ebola and COVID-19.
