After pharmaceutical studies, Caroline Landelle specialized in infection control and prevention in France and worked successively in Lyon (Prof. Philippe Vanhems) and Paris (Prof. Christian Brun-Buisson). She obtained a PhD in 2008. During her doctoral work, she studied the association between immunosuppression and incidence of nosocomial infections after septic shock. She joined the infection control team of Geneva University Hospitals (Prof. Didier Pittet; Prof. Stephan Harbarth) in 2011 as a research fellow. She is currently senior infection control practitioner and associate professor of Public Health at the Infection Control Unit of Grenoble Alpes University Hospital, France. Caroline’s research interests involve numerous aspects of infection control, in particular transmission of pathogens, risk factors of nosocomial infection and multimodal strategies.
