Dear Colleagues,
Welcome to the 9th International Conference on Prevention & Infection Control (ICPIC 2027), taking place in Geneva, Switzerland from 14 to 16 September 2027.
ICPIC continues to stand as the leading global forum for the infection prevention and control (IPC) community. Our mission remains steadfast: to prevent healthcare-associated infections, address antimicrobial resistance, and enhance the safety of patients and healthcare workers worldwide.
For ICPIC 2027, the conference will be held in a revised and condensed three-day format, compared with four days in previous editions. This streamlined structure has been designed to offer a more focused, dynamic, and efficient programme, facilitating high-quality scientific exchange while optimising time for interaction, networking, and discussion.
The 2027 scientific programme will once again cover a broad spectrum of key topics in IPC, including hand hygiene, antimicrobial stewardship, advances in artificial intelligence and digital health, surgical site infection prevention, environmental hygiene, vaccines, sustainability and eco-responsibility in IPC, as well as emerging challenges in diagnostic and clinical microbiology.
We are particularly pleased to continue our strong engagement of nurses and allied health professionals, whose essential role in IPC practice is reflected through dedicated sessions and symposia tailored to their professional challenges.
In close collaboration with international agencies and professional societies, including the World Health Organization (WHO), SHEA, the European Committee on Infection Control, and Swissnoso, ICPIC 2027 will bring together leading experts and practitioners from across the world. The programme will feature keynote lectures, symposia, Pro–Con debates, free-paper sessions, and meet-the-expert opportunities to foster dialogue and knowledge exchange.
Building on the success of previous editions, ICPIC 2027 will continue initiatives such as the ICPIC Innovation Academy and the ICPIC Clip Award, alongside enhanced opportunities for interaction, networking, and peer exchange. Selected sessions will again benefit from simultaneous French translation.
We are delighted to welcome you to ICPIC 2027 and trust that this conference will provide an inspiring, informative, and collaborative experience for all participants.
